VOLUME II presents Railroads and National Defense, produced during the Korean War. This full-color film highlights the building and moving of war materiel from coast to coast by rail, and includes stirring scenes of Milwaukee Road 4-8-4s and Erie-built diesels, CB&Q FTs, Great Northern steam power, plus Rio Grande, Katy and Seaboard diesels. Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 610, which became famous as a fantrip engine is shown in regular service.
A fascinating featurette describing the making of the war move, The Train, and two very rare Lionel train TV commercials are also included.
