Omaha, Rail Metropolis (VHS)
SKU: OM
Omaha, Rail Metropolis on the Plains was produced in 1953. Hosted by Westbrook Van Voorhees, a noted radio personality of the day, the program highlights the Omaha area, with special emphasis on Union Pacific's rail activities.
You'll see UP's City of Los Angeles passenger train, 4-12-2s in action pulling the Northwest Forwarder, and a visit to the railroad's shops, where huge 800-class 4-8-4s are serviced.
There's also an interesting tour of the Omaha stockyards and a visit to a restaurant where patrons select their own steaks and have them cut to order prior to grilling.
As a special bonus, we've also included the featurette Food By Fast Freight, a delightful short film describing the operation of a Lionel layout which delivers food at a lunch counter.
Running Time: 30 minutes *VHS*, B/W Sound
