The READING COMPANY SCRAPBOOK VOLUME II features action on the highly scenic Wilmington and Northern line. This program consists of high-quality color Super 8mm flim taken by the late William Ashley Cooper, a railfan photographer and filmmaker from Allentown, PA. You’ll see road jobs operating over the entire line between Birdsboro, PA and Wilmington, DE, and coal trains which served the enormous Grace Mine at Joanna. This volume includes trains pulled by 2 or 3 classic Alco RS-3 diesels, including the yellow-and-green 445. Other trains powered by colorful GP30/35 lashups are also presented.
Many scenic locations are shown, including Birdsboro, Geigertown, Trap Rock, Joanna, Elverson, Coatesville, Pocopsin, Granoque, Montchanin, Ellsmere, and Wilmington itself. A perfectly-synchronized soundtrack adds incredible realism to the originally-silent archive film footage.
