The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority is the fourth-largest mass transit system in the United States. Carrying more than a million riders a day, it has five trolley lines with 28 miles of track and 219 light-rail vehicles (LRVs). The 12 remaining streamlined PCC streamliners currently run on the Mattapan – Ashmont line. This program shows the PCCs on most of the Boston trolley lines. All PCCs from the original 346-car fleet are depicted in the handsome orange and cream paint scheme.
The Jamestown, Westfield & Northwestern Railway was a 32-mile interurban line ran along the east shore of Chautauqua Lake in western New York State. Connecting with the New York Central at Westfield, it offered riders a journey through some very picturesque scenery. You’ll take two trips aboard car 302, a heavyweight interurban car built in 1914. You’ll also view meets with other JW&NW cars, watch some NYC steam action at Westfield, and take a quick look at the lake steamer City of Jamestown. This fine tape is a nostalgic portrait for all traction fans!
