PART 1 of this fine program shot on high-quality Super 8mm color film by the late William Ashley Cooper opens with coverage of a fantrip from the Reading area to Shamokin pulled by EMD FP7 passenger diesels 902 and 900. Bill filmed the train at many scenic locations at it traveled to Shamokin and then took a side trip to the P&R Coal & Iron Co. mine near Locust Summit to photograph two abandoned electric center-cab locomotives and former CNJ 0-6-0 113 before following the train back to Reading.
PART 2 offers scenes of Reading passenger trains in action, concentrating on electric MU's out of Philadelphia. Locations include the New Hope, Chestnut Hill, and Doylestown lines, 16th St. Junction, Philadelphia, and the West Trenton area.
PART 3 presents rare contemporary video coverage of legendary Reading T-1 4-8-4 2100, as she returns to steam in March 1989 on the Winchester & Western in Hagerstown, MD. The meticulously-restored 2100 is truly a sight to behold as she proudly steams down the line!
