EDAVILLE: MASSACHUSETTS' MAINE ATTRACTION (VHS)
SKU: EDA
This exciting one-hour program presents the story of the Edaville Railroad, one of America's most famous attractions, narrated by Jim Boyd, Editor Emeritus of Railfan & Railroad Magazine.
Most of the Edaville's rail equipment came from the network of two-foot-gauge lines which once existed in the State of Maine. You'll learn about these diminutive lines through extremely rare archival film footage, and observe trains on the Sandy River and Bridgton & Harrison Railroads. Passenger and freight activities - and even winter scenes - are included!
The program then describes the evolution of the Edaville itself, from its planning and construction as a cranberry-hauling freight line to a full-fledged passenger railroad and theme park. You'll ride the train and view the railroad from a variety of unusual perspectives, including our famous ChoochCam minicams mounted on the locomotive! Coverage of special railfan events and unique night scenes are also presented.
