QUEENS TROLLEYS - Nostalgic Trolley Tour 10 (VHS)
SKU: T10
This fine program presents nostalgic scenes of trolley operations in Queens County, New York City. Filed from the late 1930s to the early 1950s you'll see rare footage of three interesting lines.
New York & Queens County Traction Company - includes views of the Woodside car house. Flushing-Jamaica line, Cemetery route, and the College Point line and ferry. Scenes at Northern Blvd and Main Street in Flushing are a highlight and you'll enjoy rustic views of sparsely populated Jamaica with trolleys running on a grassy private right-of-way!
Manhattan & Queens Traction Co. - depicts the Queens Blvd Line to Jamaica and the Long Island City carhouse. See trolleys running underneath the concrete arches of the Flushing elevated line!
Queensboro Bridge Railway Co. - has views of the famous Manhattan-Queens route with the 500- and 600- series trolleys. Cars stopped on the bridge and passengers could take an elevator to Roosevelt Island. This short but interesting route was the last operating trolley line in New York State.
