The action begins on a cold winter day in 1954 at the C&IM yard in Springfield. 0-8-0s, 2-8-2s, 2-10-2s and a 4-4-0 are shown, along with B&O 2-8-0s.

In the Kankakee area, you'll see NYC Hudsons, Mohawks, and 0-8-0s and chase 4-8-2s on Illinois Central's main line to Champaign. A visit to IC's Kentucky Division offers exciting views of steam in action near Paducah, featuring 4-8-2s, 2-10-2s, and more. You'll also tour the Central City yards and ride behind an IC fantrip 4-8-2.
