In October 1996, famed Chesapeake & Ohio 4-8-4 614 pulled a series of six roundtrip excursions between Hoboken, NJ and Port Jervis, NY. Dubbed the Erie Limited, these trips were the first mainline runs for the 614 in more than eleven years.
This Official Video presents the full story of C&O 614, from its construction in 1948 through its rebirth as an excursion engine. Through rare archive photos and film, you'll see 614 in regular service on the C&O, hauling the Chessie Safety Express in 1980, and pulling heavy coal trains on the Chessie System in January 1985.
