The program opens with a concise history of the Durango & Silverton to date, featuring Jim's own archival film footage shot in 1959. Then, climb aboard the train for a trip from Durango to Silverton, featuring the magnificent scenery of the Animas River Canyon. Beautiful scenic vistas unfold at every curve, and you'll be holding your breath as the train creeps along a cliff 400 feet above the roaring river! You'll also enjoy lots of great stack talk as the locomotive labors upgrade to Silverton.

Following the train ride, Jim and cameraman Marc Balkin take you on a tour of the line and present a wonderful variety of great locations for lineside photography. Maps and railfanning strategies are included.
